Apple looking to use halogen free power cables this year

Apple has always made a conscious effort to go green over the past couple of years and are continuing to do so this year by using greener power cables that are halogen free. The company behind this greener power is Volex. Apple is currently the company’s biggest customer as they supply USB and power cables for Apple’s line of mobile devices including iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. The new cables are said to have a start up cost to Volex at around $6 million this year and will allow Apple to promote a new, greener and safer cable while continuing there commitment to reducing toxic chemicals and recycling from there products. I guess its safe to say that we should start seeing these new power cables bundled with upcoming Apple devices.
